Marquise Shaped Diamond

The Marquise Cut Diamond, also known as the Navette shaped Diamond, originated in the 18th century back in France. This Diamond was inspired by King Louis XV’s order to the royal jewelers to cut diamonds and create a design in the shape of his lover’s lips, Marquise de Pompadour. Marquise diamonds are a special choice for engagement rings, making the fingers appear longer and work well as both vintage and modern.
